HOW RELIABLE ARE PALATINO E-VEHICLES COMPARED TO PETROL VEHICLES?

The Petrol Vehicle Technology is over hundred years old. The Electric Vehicle Technology is still into its infancy state. Many parts are developed. Intense R & D is going on to develop high powered electronic components. Improvements are happening at a rapid pace and lot of developments are expected in near future.

Many Governments world wide are putting and promoting this energy & eco efficient technology. Indian Govt. has also very ambitious plans to promote and protect this segment. Many incentive plans are envisaged by Govt of India to promote eco friendly, green and economical technology.

HOW PALATINO E-VEHICLES ARE DIFFERENT FROM CONVENTIONAL PETROL TWO WHEELERS?

Palatino E-vehicles are Battery-operated zero pollution 2 wheelers. (Presently available range)

Palatino E-vehicles run on electrical technology where the electric motor replaces the conventional engine. Our electrical systems are protected with extensively tested safety features.

Palatino E-vehicles can be charged wherever electric power connection is available. It travels up to 60-70 kms* (depending on the model) in one full charge.

No Registration and Driving License (except for high powered models) is required to drive a Palatino E-vehicle.

The elimination of major mechanical parts such as engine, gear box, clutch etc simplifies maintenance of Palatino E-vehicles.

All Palatino E-vehicles (presently 5 models) range are approved by ICAT.

HOW ELECTRIC VEHICLES WILL BENEFIT THE CUSTOMER?

Electric Vehicles are easy to use, low maintenance economical vehicles. They don’t consume Petrol or Diesel. They are energy efficient & eco friendly, don’t cause air or noise pollution.

HOW PALATINO E-VEHICLES OPERATE?

When the Power Key is turned to "ON" position, power is supplied to all electric components like Accelerator, Motor, Controller, etc.. Thru Twisting & de-twisting of the throttle (Accelerator), speed movement of the vehicle is controlled.

WHAT TYPE OF BATTERIES ARE USED IN PALATINO E-VEHICLES?

Palatino E-vehicles are provided with deep discharge VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) long lasting Batteries. They are extra protected and inter-connected in a series.

Sealed batteries are used and they don’t require any water to be filled up.

HOW BATTERY POWER IS RATED?

Battery packs are rated in volts (V) typically in multiples of 6V, 12V and Ampere-hours (AH) of energy.,br>

Ampere-hour (AH) rating of battery determines the storage capacity of charge.

CAN BATTERIES BE DETACHED?

Batteries are detachable. However, they are heavy and not recommended to be taken out. Battery set is provided with lock facility

CAN ANY OTHER MAKE OF BATTERIES BE USED FOR PALATINO E-VEHICLES?

These Batteries are specially designed for Palatino E-vehicles. Use of any other make of Batteries is not permitted.

The company will not be responsible for the performance/damage in case un-authorized spare parts are used in the vehicle. Warranty will automatically stand cancelled for use of un-authorised spares.

WHEN BATTERIES REQUIRES CHARGING?

Battery charge indicator is provided in dashboard in all Palatino E-vehicles. As soon as the indicator reflects low charge indication, Batteries must be charged.

WHAT DOES A BATTERY CHARGER DO?

The function of a Battery Charger is to charge the Battery as and when required. Chargers are rated in voltage and output is DC current.

It converts domestic AC supply to DC to charge the Battery. This Charger can be used with any normal domestic AC socket point. This makes charging of Battery pack simple and convenient.

HOW MUCH TIME IT TAKES FOR CHARGING?

For a completely discharged Batteries pack, 6-8 hours are required to fully charge the Batteries.

HOW TO MAXIMISE BATTERY LIFE?

Palatino provides full guidance to customers for Batteries - its usage, testing & recharging to maximise battery life.

Following points must be followed to get best out of your Batteries:

'- Recharge the Batteries when indication is near half discharged

'- Recharge the Batteries to full

'- Discharge the batteries completely once in a month

'- Always use Palatino supplied/approved Charger

ARE BATTERIES AFFECTED IF CHARGER REMAINS ON EVEN AFTER CHARGING IS OVER?

The Chargers provided with Palatino E-vehicles are specially designed Chargers. They do not allow Batteries to get overcharged. Even if Chargers remains ON after charging is over, it will not affect Battery life. It is however advisable to remove charger from the Main AC electric socket to save electricity and avoid any unforeseen malfunction of Charger.

HOW BATTERIES ARE AFFECTED IF THEY ARE NOT USED FOR LONG PERIOD WITHOUT BEING CHARGED?

If Batteries are left in discharged condition for any period, it affects the Battery life. It is advisable to recharge Batteries regularly.

When you expect not to use your Palatino E Scooter for a longer period of time, charge Batteries to full before leaving. On return, recharge the Batteries to full before driving the vehicle.

WHAT IS A CONTROLLER & WHAT IS ITS ROLE?

It is ‘brain’ of the Palatino E-Scooter which provides electric power to the Motor based on inputs from the Accelerator/throttle.Controllers are rated in voltage(V) and maximum current and are matched with current rating of Motor. Palatino Controllers are provided with overload protection.

WHAT IS THROTTLE/ACCELERATOR AND WHAT IS ITS ROLE?

Similar to petrol vehicles, the Throttle/Accelerator of Palatino E-vehicles controls the speed. It sends electronic signals to the Controller to smoothly and accurately change and control the speed..

WHAT IS BLDC MOTOR AND HOW IT WORKS?

BLDC Motor is a permanent magnet DC Motor where brushes are replaced by rotor position sensors and semi-conductor switches.BLDC Motor is placed directly in the wheel to obtain smooth torque. It helps in minimising wear & tear and frictional losses. Motors are rated in terms of voltage and power output in Watts.

CAN PALATINO E-VEHICLES BE USED IN RAINY SEASON?

Palatino E-vehicles are designed for all season use. They can be used in any season including rains without any problem.

Rigorous tests for water proofing are carried on main components e.g. Batteries, Motor, Controller & Electrical Wiring etc. However due care should be taken to avoid getting E-vehicle submerged in water.

CAN PALATINO E-VEHICLES BE WASHED?

Palatino E-scooter can be washed normally, however high pressurized water is not recommended.Due care should be taken before starting the vehicle after each wash. The vehicle should be in full dry condition.
